Augmented Port

Augmented Port is a virtual reality artwork and an inter-disciplinary and collaborative project spanning art, architecture and technology.

A vibrant and thriving urban environment is a complex system made up of many layers of social interaction, diversity and connectivity.

Augmented Port uses mobile technology to enable viewers to experience a playful, virtual tour of location-specific architectural augmentations of empty local spaces at 293 St Vincent Street, Port Adelaide (near Dock One). These architectural forms can be viewed and interacted with using an Apple or Android mobile device and the free-to-download junaio app.

Take the opportunity to interact and re-imagine the urban landscape by contemplating the multi-dimensional nature of the environment in which we inhabit — viewing results may even vary depending on weather conditions and the device used!

Don’t miss the artists’ forum and tour to be held on Saturday, 10 May from 1 pm.

The Unexpected Port initiative is a partnership between Arts SA, Renewal SA and the City of Port Adelaide Enfield.
