Hope you’re ready for Fringe, folks. The Fringe is upon us and there are more events in the Port than you can poke a stick at.

Here’s the full list of Fringe events taking place in Port Adelaide, grouped in 12 categories showcasing music, cabaret, comedy, children’s comedy, performance, multimedia, exhibitions, street art, food, workshops and a tour.

The Port Rocks

Get your retro groove on, dress 50s style and stroll around the Port’s heritage pubs and venues or drive your classic car to the Show ‘n Shine. Events such as live music, rock bands, a classic cars display and a pin up parade will be happening all day from 10am to 8pm. Read more here.

Multimedia

Muon – Cascading Light Sound/Projection Installation & Performance

A fusion of science, spirituality and consciousness exploring the interconnecting patterns of sacred geometry, colour and light through sculpture and visual art. Utilising a real-time cosmic ray detector, experience a labyrinth of projection and soundscapes each time muons are detected. Exhibit free daily, plus ticketed music performances nightly.

Bouquet

Beautiful flowers, vessels, vases and colour come together in this exhibition by members of Port Adelaide Artists Forum. Keep an eye out for special performances on Gallery Yampu’s verandah, along with dolphins and the stunning harbourside view.

Grain

The grain of timber, leather and cloth, of wheat, barley and rice, of common sense and truth. 20 grains in a scruple and 60 in a dram. It’s a hint, suspicion, tinge, iota or smidgen. It’s essential for whiskey, photography, bread, archery, dashboards and raising chickens. Bringing you grist to the Mill, against the grain, all with a grain of salt.

Fontanelle launches its new gallery, studio and workshop space in the heart of Port Adelaide with a group exhibition of Fontanelle members Anna Horne, Ben Leslie, Brigid Noone, Christian Lock, Kate Power, Mary-Jean Richardson and Sam Songailo (designer of building exterior).

Hidden Port: Brought To Light

The Port is in flux. Dormant industrial buildings are being reclaimed and repurposed. With analogue cameras and rolls of film, three local photographers – Danica Gacesa McLean, Tony Kearny, Sandra Elms – have unbolted doors to capture this moment of transition.
