We are pleased to announce that we received an excellent response to the open invitation for expressions of interest to plan and redevelop six key precincts in Port Adelaide.
The 40 hectares of land, including 4.2 kilometres of waterfront promenade, is prime redevelopment real estate and we have received many enthusiastic and innovative ideas aiming to achieve the government’s objectives for the area.
Although we are unable to disclose details of the successful applicants while the formal selection process is under way, we are very excited by the calibre of the ideas presented.
Renewal SA has now shortlisted a number of proponents to move to the next stage of the process on single and multiple precincts.
The standard of both local and national developers interested has shown brilliant drive to generate energetic and inspiring neighbourhoods.
The government’s goal is to create high-quality public spaces that capitalise on waterfront settings and provide a range of high-quality, innovative built form that respects and complements the Port’s unique heritage and character.
We’re well on our way to reaching these goals.
