Michonne Wine Bar on St Vincent Street now has an enticing new alfresco space to allow more people to enjoy its wide-ranging selection of fine wines and beautifully-paired platters.
The vibrant open-air space has increased Michonne’s seating capacity and street presence and is enlivened by atmospheric lighting, music and outdoor heating.
Michonne’s is located in a beautiful former wool shed that dates back to the 1800s and spans three levels. Used as a men’s clothing store in the early 1900s, the building features many original fittings that have been lovingly restored, such as pressed-tin ceilings, which gives the bar an elegant, bygone vibe.
The aim of Michonne’s is to encourage experimentation and appreciation of world-class wine in a relaxed, non-pretentious environment.
More than 30 wines from all over the world are available by the glass, as well as a delicious range of beers, ciders, cocktails and spirits. Michonne’s has also recently introduced ‘Jet Setter Sundays’ to enable visitors to experience a flight of wine, port or whiskey.
Tapas, flatbread pizza and cheese and meat platters are also on offer to complement the diverse line-up of liquid refreshments.
Michonne Wine Bar is one of several local businesses that has undergone recent refurbishment, including L.Law Café and Riverside Chinese Restaurant, and that is helping to reignite the Port.
Open Thursday–Sunday, with live music every Saturday.
