Fun for the Kids

For the littlies that would struggle with workshops like wreath making, get along to the Packing Shed for kids crafts, games zones and face painting with Cool 4 Kids. Again, your little snow bunnies can enjoy ALL of the activities provided, completely FREE. After they’re done creating, the Winter in Wellies show and the Frozen Party show will have them laughing, dancing and taking part while you sit back and enjoy a toasty hot chocolate or well-deserved mulled wine. Or take them over to the Little Palais for even more shows and performances to keep them entertained every fifteen minutes. Check out the program for more information.

Winter Workshops

There will be so much activity going on you won’t know what to do first down at Winterfest. But not to worry, with free entry and new experiences every day you’ll be able to keep coming back for more.

Keep entertained after ice skating with fun winter workshops like gingerbread decorating, wreath making and card decorating! It’s not just for the little ones; big kids and kids at heart are more than welcome to join in the fun. The best part? These half hour classes are completely FREE to enjoy. Just show up on the day and snag yourself a spot. Sessions will run daily at 10.30am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm and 4.30pm. We must mention that these FREE workshops have been extremely popular and with only limited spots available please make yourself known to staff. We are working on a first come first serve basis.

Want something a little more grown up? Join the Winterfest Cocktail Workshops run by expert mixologist Finn Healey. He’ll show you how to whip up some winter warming bevvies, then you’ll get to mix not one but TWO of your own to sip away at! These classes will set you back $10 but for two delicious tipples, who can argue? Once again, it’s first in first served, so just show up on the day. Sessions will run Fridays and Saturdays at 6.30pm, 7.30pm and 8.30pm for around 30 minutes.

Check out the program for more information.

It’s Show Time

Slip into The Palour, an adults only zone, where you can listen to the house band while sipping on a fine drink from the internal bar. A Taste of Winter

Our mouths are already watering! With delicious warming winter food offerings from local SA superheroes.

City dwellers Kaffana sure know a thing or two about great meat. They’ll be serving juicy delicious meaty bits from a spit daily, to really get you warmed up. Joining them is Slo Moes, who know that long, slow and low meat cooking gets you the tastiest results. Make sure you swing by their stand to ensure you get some of their tender meaty goodness on your fork.

If you’re feeling super European don’t forget to snack on a pretzel. That warm buttery bendy dough is sure to make you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.

In addition, there will be a plethora of delicious food trucks lining Mundy Street to ensure every dietary need and desire is catered to. Spend the day and taste cuisines that will transport your tastebuds to winter heaven and back. The kids will love it too with more than their fair share of delicacies to try.

If you’re thirsty the folks from the highly anticipated and soon to open Port Admiral Hotel will be pouring drinks to send you on your merry way. Plus spiced goddess mulled wine will be weaving her magic, along with coffee and hot chocolates for the kids to keep the crowd toasty warm.

And so much more…

Wander through the winter markets with so many local SA stalls where you can pick up an amazing range of winter wonders. There’ll be clothing, jewellery, candles, cakes and more.

Capture the special moments and pose for our roving photographers or jump into the A F Phootbooth Combi van to get some instant pics for you to take home.

Listen to the smooth jazz and blues tunes of a wide range of artists; whether it’s sitting down and really soaking it all in, or wistfully enjoying the magic as you wander by the great range of musicians will at the perfect atmosphere to your Winterfest experience.
