From 27 October – 6 December 2014, Our Port will be offering free fitness activities as part of our Ship Shape program!

From Yoga to Dragon Boating there is an activity to suit everyone at any level of fitness.

Free for everyone to attend

Hatha Yoga by Emma Vandenbergh

Gentle movement, coupled with breath work.  Physically it feels quite mild – great for everyone from beginners to advanced. On a subtle level, this yoga brings wellness to every system in our bodies, organs, shifts energy blockages and promotes physical and emotional wellbeing.

Dragon Boating

Have fun, get fit, go paddling!

Adelaide Sea Dragons, a long- standing and successful dragon boat club, would like to introduce you to the fastest growing watersport in the world. Come and learn from world-class members of the Club who will introduce you to a sport they enjoy so much.

These are introductory sessions for all ages (minimum 12 years) and suitable for all levels of fitness.  Bring a friend, workmate or partner – all welcome.

If the bug bites perhaps you’d like to join the club and take part in their training sessions throughout the week.

Karate

People of all walks of life can enjoy the many benefits that karate training offers. Karate is not just a great form of self-defence, but provides all students the opportunity to enhance their character and develop confidence, focus and inner security. Go-Kan-Ryu Karate teaches in a non-contact environment to provide a safe training environment and to encourage self-discipline and control. Karate training allows you to improve your fitness while learning something valuable at the same time.

The session is fun and allows you to get involved in some martial arts exercise. All ages are welcome.

Footy fitness by Port Adelaide Football Club

Do you wonder how the Port Power players get fit and stay fit? Come and join this footy fitness training session to train like a football hero and see what it’s all about.

Exercise to music for older adults

It is never too late to get your groove on. Port Adelaide Athletics Club will be running an exercise session by the water for older adults. The session will be set to music so it will be delight for a body and mind alike!

Rock and Roll Dance Class

Port Rocks is fast approaching so you’d better get your dance routine sorted! Experienced dance teachers will run a fun session teaching the basics of rock’n’roll dancing. Although easily recognisable, there are many variations on rock’n’roll. Common to all though are the fast pace, body rocking and distinctive ‘back beat’ – which make it contagious and a lot of fun.

Boxing Cardio

Come and try a great functional fitness session with SmartFitness & learn a bit of self-defence whilst training! We will improve your boxing technique, cardio fitness and teach you a few karate moves. No experience necessary, beginners to advanced welcome.

Kayaking

Come explore the Inner Harbour of Port Adelaide by kayak. View the historic Port and the resident tall ships Falie and One & All from the water.

Port Adelaide Physiotherapy

Boost Physiotherapy offers a range of physiotherapy services but they also hold weekly Pilates classes. Pilates is a form of exercise which emphasizes the balanced development of the body through core strength, flexibility, and awareness in order to support efficient and graceful movement. Port Adelaide Athletics Club

Our club is one of the oldest clubs in the Athletics SA competition and our home ground is based at the Iversen Athletics Reserve. Our club offers coaching in all forms of athletics; running, jumping, throwing, hurdling and pole vaulting. We have facilities to help athletes reach their full potential. We also offer other programs for people of varying abilities such as our Active For Life program which is held during the week and our City-Bay training group which is run all year round on Sundays.

Gear Up Girl SA 2015 by BikeSA
