Event wrap-up

Let’s Do The Port Warp Again

In October, approximately 3,500 people flocked to the Port to celebrate Halloween in style. The event featured (of course) an outdoor screening of the famed Rocky Horror Picture Show and Fork On The Road. We saw ghouls and ghosts dressed for the occasion; even newborns and puppies were spotted in costume! The crowd enjoyed doing the time warp again… or for some, the first time (where have you been!?), while indulging in local food and drink from over 30 trucks.

Fish for Life Flotilla For Cancer Family Fun Day

Mark Ratchford went on a 127-day journey to raise funds for cancer, circumnavigating the Australian coast and “fishing for life” on a fishing charter boat. The Fish for Life Flotilla For Cancer Family Fun Day last month celebrated the South Australian leg sailing into our Port. The street party had kids activities, music and food to welcome the Flotilla accompanied by many local boats supporting the cause.

The Mikado

The Gilbert and Sullivan Society of SA and Co-Opera recently brought the celebrated production of The Mikado to The Flour Shed. This historic comic opera of British-Japanese fusion was performed in two acts with music written by the famed Arthur Sullivan and script constructed by W.S. Gilbert. Comedic, modern-day references kept all audiences entertained.
